Dear local member - Make it local
I am a local resident in your electorate ELATED about the community
impact of the new planning laws introduced by Planning Minister Frank
Sartor.
These State Government Pro-Cultural Development laws will significantly
improve work opportunities for Musicians, Actors and Comedians in NSW,
and are the best news in living memory for the development of creative
industries in the State.
Changes to planning laws are needed desperately. Local voices
matter.
As the Local Governments and Shires Assn of NSW say in their cultural
development policy:
"The Associations recognise and support the vital actions councils
take to enable their diverse communities to participate in cultural
expression. The ability to 'tell our story' is an essential and
defining human characteristic. In a climate of expanding global
homogeneity, local representation is increasingly important"
These long overdue reforms to entertainment laws that kill live
performance and ignore pokies and plasma screens are BLOODY
FANTASTIC!
I look forward to you passing these excellent reforms.
Make creative industries local!
