smoking scandal for NSW health minister
In yet another scandal for the NSW Health Minister Reba Meagher, domestic violence has soared after the smoking ban of July 1 2007 in NSW has seen hotel patrons who previously would spark up a lung dart at the bar instead tootle home and belt the crap out of their family.
As forseen by NSW hotels spokesman David Elliott in the SMH from June 3 last year when he brilliantly predicted " They (patrons) would drink at home where there is no Responsible Service of Alcohol guidelines, leading to more domestic violence," NSW is now in the throes of a domestic violence epidemic from frenzied ex- hotel patrons, ameliorated only by the efforts of the previous Health Minister John Hatzistergos who sponsored the 25% smoking ban loophole in the NSW Legislative Council.
Other unexpected side effects of the smoking ban now coming to light
are toddlers heckling day-care staff for a "durry like daddy does
now he's at home from the pub", as well as pubtab punters being
barged out of the way in the local as nicotine challenged patrons chop
up on the pubtab shelf to do a few lines of blow.
