Back to school for the Camden Liquor Accord
A little maths test may be on the agenda for the next Camden liquor accord meeting after local Hotels in Camden imposed a lockout on their premises from 10pm last Saturday night. With signs prominently displayed around the town through the week advising locals that the lockout (in place for the local show) was from 11pm, crowds who had just enjoyed late fireworks at the showground were left stranded.
Perhaps the local accord might spend a little time at the local
primary school sometime between now and next years show. If you are
going to attempt running a liquor accord, the first thing to get right
is to be able to tell the time.
Curiously, the only bar in town apart from the Rissole that was able
to tell the difference between 10 and 11pm was the Merino Tavern.
The profoundly unhistoric chrome, glass, pokies and plasma Merino is
also managed by local mayor and electoral candidate/comrade Chris
"Patto" Patterson, who was holding court in the pokie bar
displaying exceptional RSA skills whilst still being open for
business.
