Gaming Machines Amendment (Temporary Freeze) Bill 2008

NSW Minister for Gaming and Racing, Mr GRAHAM WEST, on Tuesday gave notice that he would table an Act to amend the Gaming Machines Act 2001 to impose a temporary freeze on the maximum number of gaming machines that may be kept in a hotel or club and to make further provision in relation to the transfer of hotel poker machine entitlements.

How very interesting.

Also of interest in the Hansard from today was this little aside from the Minister in reference to a departed MLA.

"I also quickly learnt that there are others, including some of those sitting behind me, who one thinks are giving the right advice but are leading one up the garden path".

One of those people behind him may well be about to be in for a rocky ride one of these monday nights.

Before we sign off, here's a quote from the terrific Member from Coffs Harbour yesterday:

"Some people have suggested that tertiary-treated water is drinkable but, while I might drink my own (effluent), I do not think I would want to drink someone else's"
