Liquor Regulation 2008 open for comment

Weighing in at a very lean 38 pages, the Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing this week tabled a consultation draft Liquor Regulation 2008 for public comment.

Close attention is being paid to community impact statements on applications, and we note that the new general bar licence (also known as the 'small bar licence') will be banned from hosting pubtab facilities for patrons as well as keno when it rolls out across NSW pubs later this year.

A detailed discussion paper is also available.

Submissions are invited on the proposed Regulation. The final date for receipt of the submissions is 5pm Thursday 24 April 2008

The Gaming and Racing team in Castlereagh st must be working hard to keep to the tight schedule set for the restrucure and new legislation, as well as managing the manoeuvres of Anthony Klok and Andrew Twaits, knowing just how much established stakeholders across all aspects of the portfolio just lurv competition........
