OLGR Minister West absolves club directors from the 2nd deadly sin

As well as having granted NSW plubs an exemption from extensive  entertainment compliance for pokies, NSW Gaming and Racing Minister, Graham West, confirmed yesterday that the Government was drawing up a policy in response to a request from Clubs NSW to allow as many as 150 clubs to defer their Pokie payments for a year or 18 months.

About 20 clubs have asked for deferrals in their quarterly payments, citing indoor smoking bans as the reason.

Whilst Clubs may be in strife now that the cancer sticks have been banished to "outdoor" smoking areas, their impecuniousness of course  would have nothing at all to do either with the fact that these "not for profit" organisations spend squillions each year on the special abilities their highly gifted boards of course bring to the table.

Any inference that clubs may be running into the red due to the fact that they have over-capitalised-to-the-MAX on tacky fitouts and incredibly tasteful parallel narratives to Las Vegas are of course complete BULLSHIT!

Ahem!

New licenses under the general bar licence category due to commence from July 1 will be restricted from hosting PubTab and Keno due to the fact that they turn venues into tacky sports bars and rightly so.
