NSW ALP focus on Gambling in recent legislation
NSW Parliament has only been sitting for 5 days in 2008, and yet Gaming and Racing Minister Graham West has been fast out of the gate with a range of Gambling related legislation and related issues in Parliament
TOTALIZATOR AMENDMENT BILL 2008
GAMING MACHINES AMENDMENT (TEMPORARY FREEZE) BILL 2008
Nothing about initiatives for creative industries or promoting the
arts, - just gambling. .......... my thumbs are
twiddling!..........
Last Sunday NSW Plubs were given extended trading so that punters
could wach broadcast sport, which is exempt from entertainment
regulation in NSW.
If we want live theatre or music, we need a licence, but not for
plubtab,
pokies, the nags or broadcast sport. Read the Raise the Bar PoPE
fact sheet here.
Who needs real people creating art in their own suburb live, when we
can watch anthony mundine belt the shit out of someone on a greenhouse
gas pulsing plasma, or the homo-erotic spectacle of andrew symonds
bashing an intoxicated and naked man in front of a tv audience of
millions i hear you ask?
