Parliament Resumes - More bets now off for the pokies
Whilst there is a broad awareness that NSW liquor laws are under
review, what isn't widely known is that the pokies are under the
spotlight too.
The findings of the review are to be tabled in the last week of
Parliament from the week of 11 December. NSW pubs and clubs
refused to make their submissions public, until this:
That, under standing order 52, there be laid upon the table of the House within 14 days of the date of passing of this resolution all submissions to the statutory review of the Gaming Machines Act 2001 in the possession, custody or control of the Minister for Gaming and Racing or the NSW Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing and any document which records or refers to the production of documents as a result of this order of the House.
With notice given on 14 November 2007, the results from this request
are due on Wednesday.
If the Greens get a hold of the submissions and they are subsequently made available, they would make for interesting reading.
