"The legislation has been needed for a long time, not only in large towns such as Orange but in the smaller towns around Orange and further west that do not have outlets where one can purchase liquor without purchasing a meal".
"Those of us who have been fortunate enough to travel through Europe are aware that liquor is freely available there, and I did not notice any adverse effects of that. I did not see people becoming drunk and making nuisances of themselves in the streets merely because liquor was available in small cafes and restaurants".
