The PoPE is Dead
In what we hope to be a significant turning point in the cultural landscape of NSW, this week the NSW Parliament voted to kill off the notorious Place of Public Entertainment (PoPE) approval process, paving the way for a brighter and more diverse scene.
Regardless of the politics of the broader debate, which at times were bitter - there was strong support from all sides, particularly the Liberal / National Coalition - for these long overdue reforms.
