The Vote, the Houses, and the Numbers

In coming weeks, the Liquor Bill will be tabled by the NSW Labor party.

Firstly in the Lower House, where we have specifically targeted members with our site, where it will then be considered, before going to the Upper House where it must pass a thorough review.

The numbers in the Lower House (Legislative Assembly)  are

Labor                           52

Liberal / National      35

Independent               6

We can expect the Bill to pass through this stage.

The numbers in the Upper House (Legislative Council)  are

Labor                            19

Liberal                          10

National                        5

Independent                8

We cannot expect anything from the Upper House, except serious scrutiny by some very experienced politicians.

Do the numbers.. the Government has 18, Coalition 13, and the Independents 11.

As you can see, there is hard work ahead, which will involve getting off our bottoms and making some of the most important phone calls and emails we have made all year

- both to to Upper House Members, as well as already targeted Lower House Members.

WE NEED YOU FOR THIS, SO PLEASE STAY TUNED FOR INSTRUCTIONS
